Anomaly Zero x Jillian Ann The Designer and Visionary and Founder of Ritual Fashion and Multimedia Artist is truly a renaissance woman

Anomaly Zero x Jillian Ann  the Designer and Visionary of Ritual Fashion is truly a renaissance  woman. A musician, model, writer, environmentalist and world traveler  she brings all of these influences into her fashion designs. Jillian was  one of the first models to use the internet to get work eschewing the  conventional agencies in favor of developing a professional network that  quickly made her one of the top models online.

Income from  modeling helped her launch her music career and as she toured the world,  playing small venues to massive shows at Burning Man and EDC, she kept  looking for the coolest clothes to wear on stage and off. While a great  admirer of many fashion designers. she decided that her style was a bit  different from what was readily available and Ritual was born.

Her passion  for environmental issues, the ethical treatment workers and the endless  search for style proved to be the foundation upon which Ritual was  started and has since grown. In its fourth year, this largely  self-financed startup has been featured in top magazines and worn by  some of the biggest film, TV and music stars as well as being featured  in television and film.

Jillian  designs and oversees production of her clothes as each is hand made by  skilled artisans using eco friendly materials. Jillian can often be seen  at the world’s top music festivals and calls the entire planet home.

Favorite color: Black

Favorite pet: cat

Favorite fabrics to design in: Leather, silk and modal.

"Jillian is  the designer behind RITUAL, a brand that values sustainability, quality  and cutting-edge design, as you can clearly see above.   Her pieces  feature intricate, puzzle-like patterns and are made from goat leather;  her pieces are handmade in Indonesia and the leather is a by product  from the community she employs. "I started this line to create  eco-friendly fashion that was also edgy," Jillian tells Teen Vogue.  "Things range from simple to couture but everything is made through an  ethical and eco-friendly pipeline." RITUAL counts Sara Sampaio and Paris  Hilton as fans." Teen Vogue

Musical Projects = Anomaly Zero X Jillian Ann X Heavyweight Dub Champion X Liberation Movement

Jillian Ann is a multi-media artist who is equally comfortable behind a piano or in front of a camera, singing on festival stages or producing tracks for a DJ set in a nightclub. A singer-songwriter with a classical training in Piano, Jillian is also a programing geek which allows her to cross the musical genres of electronica, goth and rock, all the while experimenting and collaborating with cutting edge dj’s and producers in dubstep, downtempo, chill glitch hop, electro house, trance and sounds so new there is no name for them yet.

After being told by her agent that there was no room for ‘girls’ in bass music, she fired the agent and became determined to work even harder to fight the widely held belief that women were too poppy and could never be hard enough or really handle a headlining slot, unless they were bought and paid for by some major record label. At least as far as Jillian Ann is concerned, promoters would tend to agree that she is the exception to the rule, a rule Jillian encourages other women to challenge as well.

Her DJ Career has been growing and she has landed prime slots at domestic and international festivals including the Envision festival in Costa Rica and the massive Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas and Lightning in a Bottle in California. Playing one killer show after another, fusing the hottest beats with sexy vocals she has been claiming the stage as one of the few female electronica artist to be given headlining slots in both major clubs and underground festivals.

She refuses to pre-program her sets just as much as she refuses to only play one genre, spending hours head hunting and creating new tunes for each show. Her sets are constantly evolving and leaving people sweating and glued to the dance floor. Her goal as a dj/singer is to take people on a journey, expand their hearts while allowing them to release energy by dancing.

She has collaborated with countless producers creating chart toping hits with artist such as Phutureprimitive, Knight Riderz, Blunt Instrument, Pegboard Nerds, John B, Seba, Kraddy, Love and Light, David Starfire, Nit Grit, Ravager, Enei, Robert Vadney and Bruce Somers (of Kidneythieves). She has written a soon to be released album with Heavyweight Dub Champion/Liberation movement and is presently working with a number of new up and coming producers for her unique DJ sets which feature her singing live over exclusive tracks.

Her song “Quiet Riot” has been in the top 100 for dubstep since November 2012 and was featured in Mix Magazine and gained international support from artist such as Knife Party, Flux Pavilion, Krewella and countless others. Every release she has released in the last year has shot up the charts making her a staple in the dj and remixer community.

As time allows, Jillian loves creating in all mediums from music & film to web site design, photography to fashion and to that end, she has co-founded a company “RITUAL” with Cassidy Haley ( formerly of SkinGraft Designs). “RITUAL” was created in part to replace the tired old t-shirt game in music merchandising as well as to manifest Jillian’s visions stemming from her years as an art and avant-garde fashion model. “RITUAL” is bringing forth a kaleidoscope of fashion, film, music, performance and film as a multimedia entertainment and lifestyle company.

The Heart:

Jillian is an ardent environmentalist and is committed to human, animal and planetary rights and her lyrics often cut to the core of her beliefs. Jillian stresses the need to be responsible in thought and deed and humane to all.

The track record and the gear:

Jillian Ann is not a newcomer to major stages and large crowds; she’s performed worldwide and fronted for Heavyweight Dub Champion and Auditory canvas as well in addition to her solo shows. Last year she added Dj’ing with live vocals and has been producing and remixing tracks for herself and others. Now she is Dj/Singing at festivals and club across the world.

(A complete list of festivals, dates and venues is available upon request)

Jillian’s shows can range from self-contained to a full band. She is presently running Ableton as well as Traktor.

She typically runs the following equipment for her DJ sets:

Personal Info:

Jillian Ann is a self-funded artist from Georgia who now lives hidden in the woods . She lives off of her earnings from performing, designing at her company “RITUAL” , modeling, acting and of course music sales.

Jillian is also a poet, blogger, tweets (a lot) and is skilled in multimedia creations and enjoys photography, and creating pretty sexy things for people to wear.

She has turned down several record deals finding them too limiting and prefers instead to find distribution partners for her musical creations. Jillian has this to say about the present music climate.

“Having a major label partner is great for some acts, but not for those who experiment and want to stay on the creative edge. I’m too much of a control freak to allow somebody I do not know to come in and design a website, plan a strategy or tell me what trends I should follow. When I did have major label support I ended up doing everything myself anyway. Now I own what I do and if people steal my music, at least they are stealing it from me, maybe that way I can convince some of them to actually pay for it or at least come see me live or buy merchandise. Most people have no idea how hard it is to actually make ends meet in today’s climate where the rights of artists are routinely stepped on by everyone from local promoters to pirates sites, all the way to the major cartels, all this in a world were art is more needed than ever.”

Last thoughts:

I’d like to live in a world where compassion and kindness are not seen as weaknesses to be exploited, where being different triggers interest and not suspicion, where art is once again recognized as an important quality to being alive and hopefully get people to recognize that by hurting the planet we are killing ourselves.
